Director Catherine Losing began filming this documentary short in the village her family had to leave in the 1940s. It began as an exploration of her feelings about being British with a Grandfather who fought for the nazis and a recent revelation that she has Jewish ancestors. It ended up being a celebration of the wonderful Ukrainian villagers who replaced her Black Sea German relatives.
The exhibition and film is in association with The Museum of Odessa Art and British Council Ukraine.
